About the Cybathlon
Source: Cybathlon 2016: Official Trailer
The Cybathlon is an international championship for pilots (individuals with disabilities) who are using advanced assistive devices including robotic technologies. The competitions are comprised of different disciplines that apply the most modern powered knee prostheses, wearable arm prostheses, powered exoskeletons, powered wheelchairs, electrically stimulated muscles, and novel brain-computer interfaces. The main goal of the Cybathlon is to provide a platform for the development of novel assistive technologies that are useful for daily life. The first ever Cybathlon was held at the Swiss Arena, Kloten, Zurich, Switzerland on October 8, 2016. The next Cybathlon will be held in the same location, May 2-3, 2020.
